Maanisha! Foundation

Maanisha! Foundation,  (www.maanisha.or.tz). incorporated on 8th April 2010 is a result of Professional Approach Team’s choosing to not only pay weekly visits to schools and ad hoc appearances to tertiary institutions to to fufill its mandate to empower Tanzanian youth by institutionalising its commitment to “inform, engage, empower” Tanzanian youth to create business opportunities for personal and national development”.

Temino Radio Show

Just having celebrated its one year mark, Temino radio show proudly stands as the best weekend show on Clouds FM. Temino currently captures 70% market share of target audience (18-30 year range) in Dar es Salaam and 35% of urban Tanzania in areas of connectivity (Arusha, Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Lindi, Machingwea, Masasi, Manyara, Morogoro, Mtwara, Singida, Shinyanga, Tanga, Pwani and Kigoma and Kilimanjaro by June, 2011).

Airing every Saturday from 3:00 pm t0 5:00pm pm Clouds FM with Abella Bateyunga and Harris Kapiga hosting in swahili, Temino offers a range of topics and discussions which targets the youth to wake them to the potential they have and to use it to create the opportunities they seek.

Access Point

In the year 2012, Maanisha! Foundation will be hitting the air waves with a brand new TV news show that will be aired once a week. This show will be focusing on what is going on online in Tanzania, Africa and the world. The presenters will be talking about various subjects/people/companies that have a good online presence or are contributing to constructive discussions centered around youth, education and promoting business success.

The Terminal

Following the success of Temino, “The Terminal” is an English version of the now famous radio show which shall be aired once a week and will focus more on the “Young Tanzanian Executive” and how they can be successful at what they do.

 School Outreach Program

In an effort to make a greater impact on the youth community in Tanzania, Maanisha! Foundation will  be holding visits to local high schools around the Dar-es-Salaam area. These talks will look involve active participation from suces stories in our community whom we shall ask to attend the talks with us in order to expose the students to different careers and live examples of people who made it against all odds.

Objectives

  • Complement what the students learn in class with real live applications in the form of our speakers who will attend these talks
  • Showcase to students modern day careers and how to attain them
  • Get the students engaged in thinking about how their actions today, can affect their future tomorrow
  • Instill a reading culture in the youth of today
  • Challenge the students to be responsible, innovative and patriotic citizens who will be the leaders of our nation
2012-2015 Strategic Priorities
  • Increase the O Levels, A Levels and university graduation rates in Tanzania by 5% respectively by October 2013
  • Empower 100,000 entrepreneurs/start-ups by December 2015
  • Facilitate the creation of 400,000 jobs by December 2015
  • Influence policy reform in education and entrepreneurship by December 2015
  • Start own media house by December 2015
