Why We Are Here
We got tired of hearing of just how friendly Tanzanians are and just how much potential the Country has “if only the people were not so unprofessional, dependent, corrupt”. Instead of making excuses for why we are as we are, we have taken the challenge to change this reality.
We have found that whilst the educational system in Tanzania focuses first on basic literacy and then on cognitive memorization and in turn regurgitation of set theories, the competitive world of business is uncompromising on requirements of creative, critical thinking and problem solving skills and high standards of professionalism and ethics.
The implications of the disconnect are grave.
Without institutionalized mechanisms to groom Tanzania’s human resource with the requisite knowledge, skills and attitude for ownership, accountability, strategic leadership and entrepreneurial pursuits, we must find another way to develop a tenacious, professional, ethical and results-driven work force.
With the integrity of organisations compromised due to wanting business management skills and undermined governance systems, there is little hope for Tanzanian organisations to prove relevant in competitive and responsible business circles.
This is where the Professional Approach Group comes in.
We know that Tanzania can become Africa’s economic powerhouse and are building the human capital and institutions to drive the transformation.
Reflect, Recognise, Review: We supplement the Tanzanian educational system by journeying with individuals and organisations, through Tanzania’s socio-political history to see how it has shaped the way we think, perform and present ourselves for competitive and responsible business.
Rally: Together, we choose to change the way we think about Tanzania’s wealth, personal accountability, performance standards and work ethic.
Reform and Reposition: Finally, we facilitate the learning of new, relevant, directly transferable and easy to follow skills that on application, lead to the business success of individuals, teams and the organizations they work with.
